Guided Solutions were instructed by one of the key global players in the field of Pulmonology-focused Medical Devices to identify and recruit a top-tier Marketing leader. The company have a global presence, with market-leading technology endorsed by an exhaustive KOL network. The position of the Vice President Marketing had originally been envisaged to be based out of the UK but the new business strategy implied a move across to Canada in order to fuel hands-on development of the North American organisation.
The key dimension of the VP Marketing position required was the ability to synchronise the company’s brand message across all existing product lines, and ensure that new products and product modifications were consistent with the company’s brand promise.
In addition, the role involved aligning expectations and activity with domestic marketing teams within the USA and outside, developing and disseminating a central message of marketing excellence across the company. All candidates considered for the position had to demonstrate direct experience of the Pulmonology device market alongside a track record of delivering marketing excellence at board-level of seniority.
We submitted four candidates to our client, out of which the two candidates with the greatest drive were selected for the advanced interview stage. The ultimately successful candidate was a perfect storm of the right experience, right location and right drive to take ownership of the company message and lead the mission to perfect it.
